Measures reported by CtxXcXDLHCTest
Citrix Delivery Controllers are the only component in a Citrix XenApp and XenDesktop environment that talks to the site database. Generally, per best practice, the Citrix environment will be backed up by a solution that is highly available using technologies such as AlwaysOn. The Citrix environment also provides redundancy with the Local Host Cache feature, which is the most comprehensive high availability feature. When the connection between a Delivery Controller and the site database fails, the Citrix Site enters the Local Host Connection mode. Thus, the users will get continuous access to their applications or desktops during the sessions without any interruptions. The resources will be delivered from the Local Host Cache until the connection between the Delivery Controller and the site database is re-established. Even if it provides high availability during the connection failures, frequent usage of the Local Host Cache indicates an issue with the Delivery Controller, the site database or the network issues and interruptions in between them. To avoid such issues, administrators should continuously watch over the activation of the Local host Cache and find out how long the Local host Cache is being active? This can easily achieved using the CtxXcXDLHCTesttest. Using this test, administrators can easily find out if the cache is in active state for longer time. This way, administrators are pinpointed to the connection issues between the Delivery Controller and the site database and enabled to take remedial measures before the issues worsen. Outputs of the Test: One set of results for the Delivery Controller being monitored. The measures made by this test are as follows:
