Capacity licenses on the Radware Alteon load balancer limit the throughput used by the load balancer, the SSL connections/sec that it can receive from clients, and its compression capacity. To ensure the uninterrupted use of the Radware Alteon load balancer, administrators should make sure that the actual throughput used, SSL connections received, and the level of compression are within the licensed limits. The Throughput Usage test helps administrators with this!

This test helps administrators track the actual throughput usage of, SSL connections received by, and compression capacity used by the load balancer. By comparing the licensed limits with the actual usage metrics reported by this test, administrators can figure out if the capacity licenses are adequate or not. If not, they can then plan to purchase additional capacity, so that the load balancing services are not interrupted due to insufficient capacity.

throughputUsage	Indicates the current throughput usage of the load balancer.	KB/sec	You may want to set the licensed throughput usage limit as the threshold for this measure. If this is done, then this test will alert you as soon as the value of this measure violates the threshold. This way, you can easily figure out if the load balancer is in need of more throughput than the licensed capacity. You can then plan to obtain a license for the higher throughput. All packets of the new sessions will be dropped until the licensed throughput is increased.
sslCapacityUsage	Indicates the number of SSL connections received every second from clients.	Connections/sec	You may want to set the licensed SSL CPS (connections per second) limit as the threshold for this measure. If this is done, then this test will alert you as soon as the value of this measure violates the threshold. This way, you can easily figure out if the load balancer should actually support more SSL connections than the prescribed limit. You can then plan to obtain a license for the higher capacity. Until the SSL connection capacity is increased, the load balancer will reject all SSL connection requests received from clients post the violation.
compressUsage	Indicates how much compression capacity is currently utilized by the load balancer.	Mbps	You may want to set the licensed compression usage limit as the threshold for this measure. If this is done, then this test will alert you as soon as the value of this measure violates the threshold. This way, you can easily figure out if the load balancer actually requires more compression capacity than prescribed by the license. You can then plan to obtain a license for the higher compression capacity.
