Measures reported by FgWcAccProfStatTest

In a wireless local area network (WLAN), an access point is a station that transmits and receives data (sometimes referred to as a transceiver). The access point connects users to other users within the network and also can serve as the point of interconnection between the WLAN and a fixed wire network. Each access point can serve multiple users within a defined network area. If multiple access points are not available for the users to connect, then the users may not be able to connect to the WLAN. This would cause severe hardship to the users and therefore, it becomes necessary to monitor the access points round the clock. The FgWcAccProfStatTest test helps administrators in this regards!

This test auto discovers the access points of the target FotiGate firewall and reports the current status, CPU utilization and memory utilization of each access point. This test also sheds light on the amount of data transmitted and received over the LAN through each access point and the number of clients/users connected through each access point.

Outputs of the test : One set of results for each Radio band: Access Point combination connected to the target firewall being monitored.

The measures made by this test are as follows:

Measurement Description Measurement Unit Interpretation
Status Indicates the current state of this access point.   The values reported by this measure and its numeric equivalents are mentioned in the table below:

Measure Value Numeric Value
Other 0
Offline 1
Online 2

Note:

By default, this measure reports the Measure Values listed in the table above to indicate the current state of each access point. The graph of this measure however is represented using the numeric equivalents only i.e., 0 to 4.

Client_count Indicates the total number of clients connected through this access point. Number
Rcvd_data Indicates the total amount of data received through this access point during the last measurement period. Kbps
Txmtd_data Indicates the total amount of data transmitted through this access point during the last measurement period. Kbps
CPU_usage Indicates the percentage of CPU utilized by this access point. Percent A low value is desired for this measure.
Memory_uage Indicates the percentage of memory utilized by this access point. Percent A low value is desired for this measure.
