Measures reported by CtxNsIntCacheTest

This test reports the details pertaining to the Integrated Cache of the Netscaler device.

The measures made by this test are as follows:

Measurement Description Measurement Unit Interpretation
Hits Indicates the number of responses served from the Integrated Cache during the last measurement period. Number A high value is desired for this measure.
Misses Indicates the number of requests that were not served by the Integrated Cache during the last measurement period. MB
Requests Indicates the total number of requests handled by the Integrated Cache during the last measurement period. Number This measure is cumulative of the Hits and Misses measure.
Hit_ratio Indicates the percentage of requests that were served by the Integrated Cache during the last measurement period. Percent A high value is desired for this measure.
Origin_bandwidth_saved Indicates the percentage of bandwidth saved by the Integrated Cache. Percent
Non_304_hits Indicates the number of full (non-304) responses served from the cache during the last measurement period. Number
Hits_304 Indicates the number of Object not modified responses served from the cache during the last measurement period. Number
Hit_304_ratio Indicates the ratio of 304 responses to the overall responses served by the Netscaler device during the last measurement period. Percent
Data_served_by_netscaler Indicates the total amount of HTTP response data served by the Netscaler device both from the origin and the cacche during the last measurement period. MB
Data_served_by_cache Indicates the amount of data served from the Integrated cache during the last measurement period. MB
Data_hit_ratio Indicates the ratio of data served from the cache to the overall data served by the Netscaler device to the client. Percent
Comp_data_from_cache Indicates the amount of compressed data served from the cache during the last measurement period. MB
Storable_misses Indicates the number of cache misses for which the fetched response is stored in the cache before serving it to the client during the last measurement period. Number
Non_storable_misses Indicates the number of cache misses for which the fetched response is not stored in the cache during the last measurement period. Number
Revalidations Indicates the number of responses that an intervening cache revalidated with the integrated cache before serving, as determined by a Cache-Control: Max-Age header configurable in the integrated cache during the last measurement period. Number
Successful_revalidations Indicates the number of times stored content was successfully revalidated by a 304 Not Modified response from the origin during the last measurement period. Number
Convert_to_condition_req Indicates the number of user-agent requests for a cached Poll Every Time (PET) response that were sent to the origin server as conditional requests during the last measurement period. Number
Storable_miss_ratio Indicates the responses that were fetched from the origin, stored in the cache, and then served to the client, as a percentage of all cache misses during the last measurement period. Percent
Successful_reval_ratio Indicates the percentage of times stored content was successfully revalidated by a 304 (Object Not Modifed) response rather than by a full response during the last measurement period. Percent
Expire_at_last_byte Indicates the numebr of instances of content that expired immediately after receiving the last body byte due to the Expire at Last Byte setting for the content group during the last measurement period. Number
Flashcache_misses Indicates the number of requests to a content group with flash cache enabled that were cache misses during the last measurement period. Number
Flashcache_hits Indicates the number of requests to a content group with flash cache enabled that were cache hits during the last measurement period. Number
Param_invalid_req Indicates the number of requests matching a policy with an invalidation (INVAL) action and a content group that uses an invalidation selector or parameters during hte last measurement period. Number
Full_invalid_req Indicates the number of requests that match an invalidation policy where the invalGroups parameter is configured and expires on one or more content groups during the last measurement period. Number
Invalid_req Indicates the number of requests that match an invalidation policy and result in expiration of specific cached responses or entire content groups during the last measurement period. Number
Param_req Indicates the total number of requests where the content group has hit and invalidation parameters or selectors during the last measurement period. Number
Param_non_304_hits Indicates the number of Parameterized requests resulting in a full response (not status code 304: Object Not Updated) served from the cache during the last measurement period. Number
Param_304_hits Indicates the number of parameterized requests resulting in an object not modified (status code 304) response during the last measurement period. Number
Total_param_hits Indicates the number of parameterized requests resulting in either a 304 or non-304 hit during the last measurement period. Number
Param_304_hit_ratio Indicates the percentage of parameterized 304 hits relative to all parameterized hits during the last measurement period. Percent
Poll_every_time_req Indicates the number of requests that triggered a search of a content group that has Poll Every Time (PET) enabled (always consult the origin server before serving cached data) during the last measurement period. Number
Poll_every_time_hits Indicates the number of times a cache hit was found during a search of a content group that has Poll Every Time enabled during the last measurement period. Number
