List of Services This page lists the services being monitored and their current state. You can access this page by performing any of the following:
If you access this page by clicking on the Services option in the monitor menu, you can view the state of those services that have been assigned to you for monitoring. A supermonitor user therefore, gets to know the status of all the services configured in the environment, from this page. The web sites (if any) in the list are uniquely identified by the word 'Site' within brackets. Following conventional management practices, the eG Enterprise system displays states in red to indicate critical problems. Green is used to indicate good health, while blue is used to indicate an unknown state. Besides the above, orange is used to indicate major problems, and pink to indicate minor ones. A Search text box is also available in this page, which enables you to search for a particular service. Specify the whole/part of the service name to search for in the Search text box, and click the right-arrow button next to it. All services with names that embed the specified search string will then appear in this page. While this page just lists the services that are in the Normal state, the problem services (if any) carry additional information in the form of the status and the IP/hostname of the abnormal components that are associated with the service. Note:
Clicking on an abnormal component will lead you to a page that displays the layer model, tests, and measurements of the component. If you click on a problem service on the other hand, you can vew the topology of the service. However, if a problem service constitutes more than one problem segment, then clicking on the service name here will take you to a page that lists the problem segments associated with the service, the current state of each segment, and the problem components (if any) in every segment. In addition to the above, the page consists of an Associations button, which when clicked reveals the user-service associations that have been configured for the environment. This button is available only for 'supermonitor' users. Note: Note that this page also appears when a division on the Services bar graph in the Monitor Home page is clicked. In this case, the page will display only those services that correspond to the state represented by the division that was clicked on. |
