Configuration of CassLogTest

This test reports the errors logged in the log files, the current size of the log files and their growth rate, and proactively alerts administrators if the rate of growth is abnormal.

The default parameters associated with this test are as follows:

  • The TEST PERIOD list box helps the user to decide how often this test needs to be executed.

  • Specify the IP address of the host for which the test is being configured.

  • Specify the PORT at which the HOST listens. The default value is 9042.

  • Specify the full path to the log file that is to be monitored in FILE PATH text box. For example, the log file path can be: C:\tmp\system.log.

  • If the error log file to be monitored is encoded with UTF-16, then, set the ISUTF16 flag to Yes. By default, this flag is set to No.

  • Once the necessary values have been provided, clicking on the Update button will register the changes made.

When changing the configuration for specific servers, a “*” beside the text box corresponding to the parameter signifies that these values have to be manually configured by the user. The parameter values that require to be configured will typically be prefixed with a “$” or contain a series of “*”. A value of "none" in the parameter value indicates that the corresponding parameter value can be changed if required.
