Default Parameters for MsSqlWaitTest

The MsSqlWaitTest reports key statistics pertaining to wait status.

Note: This test reports measures only for Microsoft SQL Server version 2005 and above.

This page depicts the default parameters that need to be configured for the MsSqlWaitTest.

  • The TEST PERIOD list box helps the user to decide how often this test needs to be executed.

  • In the INSTANCE text box, enter the name of a specific Microsoft SQL instance that is to be monitored. The default value of this parameter is "default". To monitor a Microsoft SQL instance named "CFS", enter this as the value of the INSTANCEparameter.

  • By default, the SSL flag is set to No, indicating that the target Microsoft SQL server is not SSL-enabled by default. To enable the test to connect to an SSL-enabled Microsoft SQL server, set the SSL flag to Yes.

  • If the ISPASSIVE parameter is set to YES, then it means that all managed Microsoft SQL servers are passive servers in a SQL cluster. No alerts will be generated if the servers are not running. Measures will be reported as "Not applicable" by the agent if the servers are not up.

  • Once the aforesaid values are provided, click on the UPDATE button to register the changes made.
