Adding a new Descriptor Pattern

This page appears when you click the Add new descriptor pattern button in the DESCRIPTOR PATTERNS page. In this page, first choose releavant Component type and Test name then the Descriptor pattern text box will appear. In the Descriptor pattern text box, enter the Descriptor pattern for the chosen Component type and Test name. The pattern can be an expression of the form *expr* or expr or *expr or expr*. A leading ‘*’ signifies any number of leading characters, while a trailing ‘*’ signifies any number of trailing characters. Say for example, the descriptor pattern that is to be configured should look for VM names that begin with the string, win; so, enter win* in the Descriptor pattern text box. Then, click the icon corresponding to a measure in Measures with thresholds section to change the threshold settings of that measure for a descriptor pattern. If you want to define thresholds for a measure in the Measures without thresholds section, simply click on that measure name in that section. Finally, click the Update button.
