Adding a RUM Data Collector
The NEW RUM DATA COLLECTOR pop up window appears when you click the Add New Collector button in the RUM Data Collector Configuration page.
To add a new RUM Data Collector, do the following:
Specify a unique name for the new RUM Data Collector in the Nick Name text box.
In the Public URL text box, specify the RUM Data Collector URL. Note that you will have to specify the ‘public URL’ of the RUM data collector here.
Note:
An HTTP collector cannot manage an SSL-enabled web site/web application.
Optionally, you can also provide a Private URL for the RUM collector.
Note:
A private URL is mandatory in the following situations:
If the web site/web application being managed receives requests from users within a private network; in this case, the browsers used by these intranet users will be able to communicate user experience metrics to the RUM collector, only if the collector is configured with a private URL.
If the remote agent monitoring the web site/web application is deployed in a private network; without a private URL, this remote agent will not be able to poll the collector for metrics.
