Associate/Disassociate Tests with a Layer
Once a new layer is added, tests have to be associated with this layer. This page enables administrators to configure a new layer. To access this page, click on the icon against the layer of your choice, from the INTEGRATION CONSOLE - LAYER page.
From the Disassociated tests list of this page, select the test(s) you want to associate with the new layer.
Click the < button to move the selected test to the Associated tests list.
This will invoke a message box that prompts you to confirm whether the chosen test should be associated with all the components that support this layer. By default, once a test is associated with a layer, that layer will get automatically associated with all components that support that layer. Sometimes, you may want a test to be associated with only a few components that support that layer and not all of them. In this case, click the No button in the message box. If this is done, then the test will not be associated with that layer. On the other hand, if you want the test to be associated with all components that support the layer, click the Yes button. This will transfer the selection to the Associated tests list. This ensures that the chosen test is automatically assigned to all components with the said layer. Clicking on the Cancel button also associates the selected test with the layer, but then, it does not automatically map the test to all the components which constitute that layer. Instead, it simply makes the test available for association with the corresponding components, so that, administrators have the flexibility to map the test to specific components alone and not all of them.
If for any reason, you want to disassociate a test from a layer, simply select the test from the Associated tests list and click the > button.
Finally, click the Update button to save the changes.
The Back button enables the administrator to go back to the previous screen.
