Configuration of HpEvaDGStatusTest

The HpEvaDGStatusTest reports the current operational state of each disk group on the storage array, monitors the space usage of every group, and enables administrators to accurately identify which disk group is experiencing a space crunch currently.

The parameters of this test are as follows:

  • The TEST PERIOD list box helps the user to decide how often this test needs to be executed.

  • In the HOSTtext box, the host name for which the test is to be configured has to be specified.

  • The PORT text box refers to the port used by the EVA SAN device. The default port is 'null'.

  • Specify the IP address of the HP EVA SAN in the EVASYSTEMIP text box.

  • Install the SSSU.exe software and specify the full path to the install directory of this software in the SSSULOCATION text box.

  • In the USERNAME and PASSWORD text boxes, provide the user credentials that this test will use to access the target HP EVA SAN.

  • Confirm the password by retyping it in the CONFIRM PASSWORD text box.

  • In the TIMEOUT text box, indicate the duration (in seconds) for which this test should wait for a response from the storage device. By default, this is set to 120 seconds.

  • Finally, click the Update button.

When changing the configuration for specific servers, a “*” beside the text box corresponding to the parameter signifies that these values have to be manually configured by the user. The parameter values that require to be configured will typically be prefixed with a “$” or contain a series of “*”. A value of "none" in the parameter value indicates that the corresponding parameter value can be changed if required.
