Configuration of StorageGroupTest
An Exchange storage group is a logical container for Exchange databases and their associated system and transaction log files.
This test monitors the mailboxes in a storage group to report key statistics such as the number of mailboxes that have exceeded their storage limit, the number of mails in the mailboxes, etc.
The default parameters associated with this test are as follows:
The Exchange Management Shell is a command-line management interface, built on Windows PowerShell v2, which enables you to administer every part of Microsoft Exchange Server 2007/2010. This test uses the Exchange management shell to run scripts and collect the desired performance metrics from the Exchange server. To enable the test to load the Exchange management shell snap-in (exshell.psc1) for script execution, you need to specify the full path to the Exchange management shell in the XCHGEXTENSIONSHELLPATH text box. For instance, your specification can be, c:\progra~1\micros~1\exchan~1\v14\bin\exshell.psc1. By default, however, the XCHGEXTENSIONSHELLPATH is set to none. In this case, the eG agent will automatically discover the Exchange management shell path. Enter the path of the exchange powershell (Exshell.psc1). By default, this is set to none. In this case, the eG agent will auto-discover the powershell path.
When changing the configuration for specific servers, a “*” beside the text box corresponding to the parameter signifies that these values have to be manually configured by the user. The parameter values that require to be configured will typically be prefixed with a “$” or contain a series of “*”. A value of "none" in the parameter value indicates that the corresponding parameter value can be changed if required.
