Default Parameters for StormSupSumTest Using this test, administrators can identify the number of available CPU cores, the total memory used by the CPU and the available worker slots in the Supervisor node of the target Apache Storm. Any aberrant condition of memory usage will alert the administrators to take remedial measures before users start complaining. Administrators may schedule periodic reboots of the Supervisor nodes. By knowing that a specific node has been up for an unusually long time, an administrator may come to know that the scheduled reboot task is not working on a node. This test included in the eG agent also monitors the uptime of critical nodes. This page depicts the default parameters that need to be configured for the StormSupSumTest test.
When changing default configurations of tests, the values with “$” indicate variables that will be replaced by the eG system according to the specific server being managed - for instance, $hostName is the host/nickname of the target host, $port is the port number of the server being monitored. E.g., for a server xyz:80, $hostName will be changed automatically by the eG manager to “xyz*” and $port will be changed to “80” when configuring a test.
