Enabling Guest level Monitoring for Azure Virtual Machines

To enable guest-level monitoring for an Azure virtual machine, do the following:

1. Login to the Microsoft Azure Portal using https://portal.azure.com with valid credentials.

2. When the portal opens, click on the Virtual Machines option in the All services page.

3. Virtual machines will then appear, list all Azure VMs. Click on the VM for which you want to enable guest-level monitoring.

4. A page will then appear displaying the properties of the chosen virtual machine. Scroll down the list of options in the left panel of the page, until the Diagnostic Settings option comes into view. Once it becomes visible, click on it.

5. A page will then appear. Click on the Enable guest-level monitoring button, indicated at the bottom of the page. This will install the Azure Diagnostic Agent on the chosen agent, which will start collecting guest-level metrics from that VM.

6. Finally, repeat the above steps for each VM you want monitored.
