Configuration of HrznIdmUsageTest
This test auto-discovers the resources configured in the target VMware Horizon Identity Manager/VMware Horizon Workspace One Access and for each resource, this test reports the current status and users entitled to access that resource. This test also helps administrators pin-point the exact resource that failed to launch frequently. Using this test, administrators can also figure out the license type and subscription type of the license assigned to each resource.
The default parameters associated with this test are:
Specify the URL of the target VMware Horizon Identity Manager/VMware Horizon Workspace One Access being accessed in the PUBLISHED URL text box. You can provide an HTTP or an HTTPS URL here. Ensure that you provide a fully-qualified domain name of the target VMware Horizon Identity Manager/VMware Horizon Workspace One Access here. For example, the URL can be: https://eg-idm.com.
The eG agent communicates with the target VMware Horizon Identity Manager/VMware Horizon Workspace One Access using REST API. To collect the required metrics, the eG agent requires an Access token in the form of a Client ID and the Shared Secret value of that client. To know more about creating the Client ID and the shared secret of the Client ID, refer to Configuring the eG Agent to Monitor the VMware Horizon Identity Manager/VMware Horizon Workspace One Access. Specify the created Client ID in the CLIENT ID text box and the Shared Secret in the CLIENT PASSWORD text box. Confirm the Client Password by retyping it in the CONFIRM PASSWORD text box.
By default, the VMware Horizon Identity Manager/VMware Horizon Workspace One Access is SSL-enabled. Accordingly, the SSL parameter is set to true by default. This indicates that the eG agent will communicate with the VMware Horizon Identity Manager/VMware Horizon Workspace One Access via HTTPS by default.
The DD FREQUENCY refers to the frequency with which detailed diagnosis measures are to be generated for this test. The default is 1:1. This indicates that, by default, detailed measures will be generated every time this test runs, and also every time the test detects a problem. You can modify this frequency, if you so desire. Also, if you intend to disable the detailed diagnosis capability for this test, you can do so by specifying none against DD FREQUENCY.
To make diagnosis more efficient and accurate, eG embeds an optional detailed diagnostic capability. With this capability, the eG agents can be configured to run detailed, more elaborate tests as and when specific problems are detected. To enable the detailed diagnosis capability of this test, by default, for a particular server, choose the On option against DETAILED DIAGNOSIS. To disable the capability, click on the Off option.
The option to selectively enable/disable the detailed diagnosis capability will be available only if the following conditions are fulfilled:
When changing the configuration for specific servers, a “*” beside the text box corresponding to the parameter signifies that these values have to be manually configured by the user. The parameter values that require to be configured will typically be prefixed with a “$” or contain a series of “*”. A value of “none” in the parameter value indicates that the corresponding parameter value can be changed if required.
