Configuration of MSSQLAThreadTest This test monitors the I/O and non-I/O thread usage in the query and processing thread pools, and alerts administrators to excessive/abnormal thread utilization in any of the pools. Additionally, the test also tracks the jobs in the queue of every pool, thus revealing if the pools are sized commensurate to the workload. Administrators are notified if the job queue length keeps increasing, thereby revealing a dearth of idle threads in the pool. The default parameters associated with this test are as follows:
When changing the configuration for specific servers, a “*” beside the text box corresponding to the parameter signifies that these values have to be manually configured by the user. The parameter values that require to be configured will typically be prefixed with a “$” or contain a series of “*”. A value of “none” in the parameter value indicates that the corresponding parameter value can be changed if required. |
