Configuration of HPStOLibraryTest
This test auto-discovers the Virtual Tape Libraries on the target HPE StoreOnce Backup system and for each Virtual Tape library, this test reports the current status, health and replication health. Besides, this test also reports the amount of data that is stored before and after deduplication. Using this test, administrators can figure out the count of drives and Cartidges assigned to each Virtual Tape Library and the count of drives that are currently online. The detailed diagnostics reveals the replication role and deduplication ratio of each Virtual Tape Library.
The default parameters associated with this test are:
By default, the eG agent executes REST APIs on the target HPE StoreOnce Backup system to collect the required metrics. For the eG agent to execute the REST APIs, a special user with user role is required. Specify the credentials of such a user in the USERNAME and PASSWORD text boxes.
A service set is a collection of services such as Virtual Tape Library(VTL), Network Attached Storage(NAS), Replication and StoreOnce Catalyst. There is one instance of each service per service set. By default, the target HPE StoreOnce Backup system is associated with a service set. Therefore, the SERVICE SET parameter is set to 1 by default. If you are monitoring multiple HPE Storeonce Backup systems in your environment, then, specify the exact number associated with the SERVICE SET that is assigned to each HPE StoreOnce Backup system that is to be monitored.
To make diagnosis more efficient and accurate, eG embeds an optional detailed diagnostic capability. With this capability, the eG agents can be configured to run detailed, more elaborate tests as and when specific problems are detected. To enable the detailed diagnosis capability of this test, by default, for a particular server, choose the On option against DETAILED DIAGNOSIS. To disable the capability, click on the Off option.
The option to selectively enable/disable the detailed diagnosis capability will be available only if the following conditions are fulfilled:
When changing the configuration for specific servers, a “*” beside the text box corresponding to the parameter signifies that these values have to be manually configured by the user. The parameter values that require to be configured will typically be prefixed with a “$” or contain a series of “*”. A value of “none” in the parameter value indicates that the corresponding parameter value can be changed if required.
