Default Parameters for ADGroupsInfoTest

This test reports how well the prepared statements are cached and executed per second. In addition, this test also reports the rate at which the prepared statements are evicted from the cache and how well the regular statements are executed. Using this test, administrators can be alerted to inadequate sizing of the prepared statement cache and processing bottlenecks on the target database node.

This page depicts the default parameters that need to be configured for the ADGroupsInfoTest.

  • The TEST PERIOD list box helps the user to decide how often this test needs to be executed.

  • By default, the value specified against the INACTIVE DAYS parameter is 90 days. This implies that the user accounts in the domain controller or active directory will be considered as inactive after a period of 90 days.

  • By default, the DETAILED INFO flag is set to No, indicating that by default, the test does not generate detailed measures for the measures, so as to conserve storage space. If you want the test to generate and store detailed measures for information events, set this flag to Yes.

  • By default, the SHOW ORGANIZATIONAL UNIT DD flag is set to No. Accordingly, this test, by default, will not report detailed diagnostics for the Organizational units and Empty organizational units measures. To view the list of Organization units and empty Organizational Units on the domain controller or active directory, set this flag to Yes.

  • By default, the Show Group DD flag is set to No. Accordingly, this test, by default, will not report detailed diagnostics for the Groups and Empty Groups measures. To view the list of groups and empty groups in the domain controller or active directory, set this flag to Yes.

  • In the GROUP NAME text box, Specify the name of the active directory group for which the test should report metrics. By default, none is specified against this parameter indicating that this test will report metrics for all the active directory groups, by default.

  • DD FREQUENCY refers to the frequency with which detailed diagnosis measures are to be generated for this test. The default is 1:1. This indicates that, by default, detailed measures will be generated every time this test runs, and also every time the test detects a problem. You can modify this frequency, if you so desire. Also, if you intend to disable the detailed diagnosis capability for this test, you can do so by specifying none against DD frequency.

  • Once the above value is provided, click on the Update button to register the changes made.

When changing default configurations of tests, the values with “$” indicate variables that will be replaced by the eG system according to the specific server being managed - for instance, $hostName is the host/nickname of the target host, $port is the port number of the server being monitored. E.g., for a server xyz:80, $hostName will be changed automatically by the eG manager to “xyz” and $port will be changed to “80” when configuring a test.
